How I Help:

I am committed to coaching productivity skills that are customized to your situation, backed by scientific research, and sustainable. Whether you are feeling completely underwater in your current situation and don’t know how or where to start (check out my Get Started track) or you are highly motivated to tackle an important project but are struggling with prioritizing, time management and burnout (check out my Get It Done track), productivity coaching will break down the process and guide you to success and increased well-being.

My passion is helping others learn and practice how to live well by becoming the best version of themselves. There are things that we all struggle with every day. We are so busy, pulled in a million directions, and often sleep-deprived and zapped of energy and motivation. How often do you feel exhausted by dinner time after a busy day of running around, only to have the sense that you really didn’t accomplish what you needed to? If this rings true for you, then productivity coaching is the answer. Whether you are overwhelmed, in a rut, or faced with an important project, you will benefit from developing skills that support your three most precious resources: your time, your attention, and your energy.

Who I Help:

Why I Help:

I am best described as a life-long learner. I get absorbed in learning about the what’s, how’sand why’sof life particularly in the area of human development and psychology. My educational and professional background has always been in the field of children and families. I have a master’s degree in school psychology and a doctorate in child and developmental psychology, and for the past ten years I’ve taught college courses in psychology. I started The Balanced Student in 2014 in response to the struggling students I encountered both in my college classrooms and in my own home with my three kids. My mission with The Balanced Studentis to help students be productive and wellthrough the instruction of study skills and habits, time management and organization, goal-setting and general wellness. A common refrain I’d hear from my friends as I described my work was “I could use that! You should offer it to adults.”

As I continued to grow my business, teach at the university, volunteer, and manage my household, I discovered that my friends were onto something. I realized that I needed to practice the skills I was coaching to students in order to be productive and stay motivated. And, so The Balanced Ubecame a reality.
